Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2022

Bangladesh is the new booming market in the world of ceramics. The industry has shown remarkable growth potential with increasing demand and maximum supply level from all of the sub-sectors such as tableware, sanitaryware, and tiles. In order to encourage development and growth of such a promising sector, the 3rd edition of International Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2022 was held at ICCB, Dhaka from November 24-26. The event is recognised as one of the most prestigious and exciting business expositions of the global ceramic market.

The massive arrangement was undoubtedly a grand success with the gathering of more than 300 global brand representatives, a total of 87 manufacturers and suppliers among which 31 were local and 56 were foreign exhibitors of ceramic products, raw materials, and machinery from 15 different countries. The exhibition area was about 15,000 square meters combining four halls at the ICCB to accommodate more than 21,000 visitors along with all the exhibitors and delegates from different countries such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Japan and Vietnam. The event was successful to grab the attention of all the business-related crowd and final consumers of ceramic products, showcasing their new and innovative product range. All enjoyed such a grand event organized by Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA).`

Since 2017, Ceramic Expo has been taking place in every two years to enable local manufacturers and customers to get in touch with their industry-leading companies and well-known brands. The event is not only providing manufacturers with the opportunity to ensure a meet and greet session with the foreign suppliers and manufacturers of different raw materials and innovative technologies of the ceramic industry but also creating an excellent platform to enhance networking, accelerating business exposure, and bringing the local customers closer to their preferred brands of the market. Compared to 2017 and 2019, the arrangements of Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2022 were massive, the motto of the arrangement was to open the gateway of the ceramic world and to promote the chance of showcasing ceramic products, pottery, raw materials, new and innovative technologies for the betterment and growth of the ceramic industry in Bangladesh.

As the valued principal sponsor Akij Ceramics Ltd., platinum sponsor DBL Ceramics Ltd. and Sheltech Ceramics Ltd. along with the co-sponsors Abul Khair Ceramic Ind. Ltd., BHL Ceramic Co. Ltd., Mir Ceramic Ltd., Foshan Hlt & Dlt Technology Co. Ltd. and Sacmi Imola SC supported the Ceramic Expo.

The arrangement of the exhibition started with various digital and outdoor branding activities. BCMEA had played a significant role with direction and assistance of the board members to make the event a success, bigger, and better with each passing year. The website of Ceramic Expo 2022 opened its registration process for visitors three months prior to the event. The registration process was a huge success with almost 25,000+ visitors and 1200+ participants of the seminars attending the exhibition. There were extensive digital and outdoor branding activities going on to inform interested customers and industry people about where and when the event is about to happen and how to become a part of such a grand exposition.

The branding activities of digital platforms were performed through Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and official websites with various interactive static and dynamic contents every now and then. The contents were designed to provide information about the expo, exciting gifts, free entry, job fair, and raffle draw along with previous event highlights, exhibitor’s information, what’s coming in the expo, and overall idea about the ceramic industry and its sub-sectors to reach the industry people and targeted audience who are directly or indirectly connected with the ceramic sector.

Apart from that, the digital and print media such as newspapers, magazines, SMS, email, etc. were circulated to involve the core targeted audience directly and reach them effectively to make the event fruitful for the local and foreign exhibitors and expand their business opportunities in the near future. Almost 5000 people got notified about the event through email and SMS. There were roman banners, danglers, foot over bridge branding, roadside branding, leaflets distribution, and cut out banners to highlight the attraction of the event. In addition, various attractions for the exhibitors were arranged to fulfill the business purpose and enhance their chances to meet local customers, attract global exposure, and opportunities of exporting in different continents of the world.

The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony on 24th November welcoming all the exhibitors, guests, and visitors. With the gracious presence of the Honorable Commerce Minister Mr.  m8 7  Tipu Munshi, as the Chief Guest; and Mr. Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, the Senior Vice President of FBCCI as the Special Guest the event began with excitement, hope, and aspiration for all. The overall event was presided over by Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah, the President of BCMEA, and the welcome speech was delivered by the General Secretary, Irfan Uddin on behalf of BCMEA. The Chief Guest and the Special Guest both visited different stalls there and appreciated their participation to make the event successful.

With the inauguration ceremony, three-day B2B and B2C meetings, seminars, and exhibition the event became a massive gathering of industry-related people, ceramic products and materials clients, industry leaders, etc. The crowd of the event from the initiation of the exhibition until the end hour of each day was remarkable. Each and every individual enjoyed the exhibition to the fullest by making business connections, continuous interaction, and networking with industry-related clients.

The industry’s growth, upcoming changes, positive shifts, and challenges were discussed in the seminars each day attended by renowned scholars, researchers, and academics to enlighten the industry people and audience. There were five seminars within three days of the exhibition with more than 250 participants in each seminar. As the chief guests Mr. Md. Ashraful Alam, Director general of Housing & Building Research Institute, Mr. Mir Manzurur Rahman, Chief Architect of Architecture department, A.H.M Ahsan, Vice Chairman of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Md. Ali Akbar Khan, Chairman of Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) and Mahfuza Akhtar, Chairman of Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission (BTTC), Ministry of Commerce have graced the seminar sessions with their presence. The sessions were interactive and industry-related that enabled the audience to connect with guests, government high officials and speakers. The participation of the crowd and appreciation from the audience for such informative and interactive seminar sessions were also encouraging and praiseworthy.

The venue of the event was organized, well decorated, and focused on ceramic-related banners, seminar information, job fair information, and branding of the sponsors. The visitors participated in a raffle draw each day to get 10 gifts and also voted for their favorite pavilions and exhibitors. With the support of Bangladesh Institute of Glass and Ceramics (BIGC), the job fair was successful in collecting a pool of CVs from job seekers, students and visitors. The Ceramic Bangladesh Magazine concentrated on the Ceramic Industry, got exposure and attention from the visitors and gained huge positive appreciation in the Ceramic Expo. Visitors of the exhibition collected different attractive gifts from each hall which increased their enthusiasm and excitement for the event as well. The arrangement of the event was really convenient for everyone to roam around from one hall to another with transportation facilities provided by BCMEA. The organizers and volunteers put their best effort to make the event successful throughout the time.

For all the exhibitors BCMEA arranged an exhibitor’s night on the last day of the exhibition to appreciate their participation and also honor them with souvenirs, the crest of the engraved ceramic design of the Padma Bridge, and the event directory. The chief guest, Mr Salman F. Rahman, made the exhibitor night more delightful with his presence.

All the valued sponsors, exhibitors, and guests enjoyed a cultural programme followed by distribution of awards by People’s Choice and Jury Board Mentions in

different categories. In the Jury Board the honorable and respected Dr. Mohammed Zakiul Islam, Head of Architecture department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Ar. Khan Md. Mustapha Khalid, Vice President of National Affairs, Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), Abu Mukhles Alamgir Hossain, Director of Fair and Display, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) contributed to select the winners. The winners of the People Choice and Jury Board Mention awards were presented by the honorable Chief guest and the board members of BCMEA.

The event concluded with Sync LED dance performance and the announcement of Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2024 followed by interaction of the guests in a pleasant ambiance. The expo is the platform to explore global export opportunities and create ample scope for all the local manufacturers, buyers, and investors to accelerate the development of the ceramic industry of Bangladesh. The Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2022 has opened the opportunity for business networking, interaction, and building global connections through the event. Eventually, the event would promote sustainable growth of the ceramic industry and bring effective positive changes in the world of ceramics with the arrangements of the next years.
